    Energia Halo, Black Opal’s filly, is the Queen of the Turf and wins the Grande Premio Duque de Caxi

    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 2015:  Energia Halo, Black Opal Stud’s filly, took the spotlight at the Gavea race track onRio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 2015:  Energia Halo, Black Opal Stud’s filly, took the spotlight at the Gavea race track on Sunday, September 10th, 2016, taking home the Grande Premio Duque de Caxias (GII).

     

    The amazing race, took place on the 2.000-meter turf track. Energia Halo placed herself among the first four females throughout the race. In the last 400 meters, she was given a free reign by jockey Marcelo Goncalves, and ran her rivals off their feet, coasting home with a time of 1:58.58. This third consecutive win was rewarded with an R$ 50.000 prize.  

     

    “Energia Halo is a female that comes from a family of champions and seems to be going down the same road” said Eduardo Schuch, Chairman of Black Opal Group. “She has taken her game to another level with this commendable performance, positioning herself as one of the best females in the country”.

     

    The beautiful 4-year-old, 485 kg., chestnut female is the daughter of Gloria de Campeao and Super Electric. She was bred by Haras Sta Maria de Araras, trained by L.R. Feltran and guided by jockey M. Goncalvez.
